Jharkhand Weather Update: Dense Fog, Falling Temperatures as Winter Tightens Grip

Rachi: With the beginning of December, weather conditions have started to change across Jharkhand, including the state capital Ranchi. December 1 began with dense fog and cloud cover, while slight improvement was seen on December 2. The sky is expected to clear completely from Wednesday, but no relief from the cold is expected until December 7.

According to the Meteorological Department, the minimum temperature in Ranchi is likely to drop sharply over the next few days. The minimum temperature may fall to around 8°C in the next four days, and a similar decline is expected across all districts.

Around December 15, temperatures may drop further due to icy winds, leading to cold wave conditions. This cold wave may persist for four to five days, bringing the minimum temperature in Ranchi down to nearly 5°C.

In the last 24 hours, the lowest minimum temperature in the state was recorded in Khunti at 9.4°C. The Met department has predicted a gradual drop of three to four degrees Celsius in the minimum temperature across the state over the next four days, with no major changes expected in the two days that follow.

Ranchi is likely to experience fluctuating weather conditions over the next week. Mornings will begin with fog and cold winds. The minimum temperature is expected to decline by up to four degrees in the next four days, resulting in very cold nights. Daytime temperatures will remain normal, although winds will increase the feeling of cold.
