During this, PM Modi also clarified that the matter of stopping military action was discussed directly between India and Pakistan, in which there was no mediation of America.

Indian Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri has given details about this 35-minute long phone conversation between PM Modi and Donald Trump. Misri told that a meeting between Prime Minister Modi and President Trump was scheduled on the sidelines of the G7 Summit. However, President Trump had to return to America early, due to which this meeting could not take place. After this, on the request of President Trump, both the leaders had a phone conversation today. He told that this conversation lasted for about 35 minutes, in which the Pahalgam terrorist attack, Operation Sindoor and the subsequent India-Pakistan tension were discussed in detail.

First conversation after Operation Sindoor
Vikram Misri told that after the Pahalgam terrorist attack on 22 April, President Trump had expressed condolences to Prime Minister Modi over the phone and expressed support against terrorism. This was the first conversation between the two leaders after that. Therefore, Prime Minister Modi talked to President Trump in detail about Operation Sindoor.

The Foreign Secretary said, ‘Prime Minister Modi clearly told President Trump that after April 22, India had told the whole world about its determination to take action against terrorism. Prime Minister Modi said that on the night of May 6-7, India had targeted only terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir. India’s actions were very measured, precise and non-provocative. Also, India had also made it clear that India will respond to Pakistan’s bullet with a shell.’
JD Vance had called PM Modi
Along with this, he told that on the night of May 9, US Vice President JD Vance had called Prime Minister Modi. During this, he had said that Pakistan can launch a big attack on India. Then Prime Minister Modi had told him in clear words that if this happens, then India will give an even bigger reply to Pakistan. Misri said, ‘India gave a very strong response to Pakistan’s attack on the night of May 9-10 and caused a lot of damage to Pakistan’s army. Its military airbases were destroyed. Due to India’s strong reply, Pakistan had to request India to stop military action.

‘Neither mediation was accepted nor will it ever be accepted’

In this conversation, Prime Minister Modi clearly told President Trump that during this entire incident, at no level, were there any talks on topics like India-US trade deal or mediation between India and Pakistan from America’s side. The talks of stopping military action were held directly between India and Pakistan, through the existing channel of both the armies, and it was done on the request of Pakistan.

According to Misri, Prime Minister Modi stressed that India neither accepted mediation nor does it accept it nor will it ever accept it. There is complete political unanimity in India on this issue. President Trump understood the things told in detail by the Prime Minister and expressed support for India’s fight against terrorism. Prime Minister Modi also said that India now sees terrorism as a war and not a proxy war and India’s Operation Sindoor is still going on.

When Trump asked – Can we stay in America and go?

Vikram Misri told that during this time President Trump asked Prime Minister Modi if he could stop by the US on his way back from Canada. However, due to pre-scheduled programs, Prime Minister Modi expressed his inability. Both the leaders then decided that they would try to meet soon.
