Tehran/Tel Aviv… The war between Israel and Iran has now reached its peak. Israel has launched new military attacks in Iran’s capital Tehran, targeting the Quds Force headquarters of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC). On the other hand, Iran has intensified retaliatory attacks with ballistic missiles and drones on Israeli cities like Tel Aviv and Haifa. Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump gave a direct threat to Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, saying, ‘We know exactly where the so-called Supreme Leader is hiding. Trump also claimed that the US has gained ‘complete control’ over Iran’s skies. As this war is increasing tensions globally, let’s know 10 big updates of the Israel-Iran war, which are pointing to the horrific future of this war.

Israel’s new attack on Tehran: The Israeli Air Force (IAF) on Tuesday launched massive attacks in Tehran’s District 18, near Mehrabad Airport. The Israeli army targeted the IRGC’s Quds Force headquarters, in which 60 fighter jets took part. Israel claimed that it destroyed 12 missile storage and launch sites of Iran.

Iran’s counter-attack: Iran launched more than 100 ballistic missiles and drone attacks on Israel’s Tel Aviv, Haifa and other cities. There are reports of explosions in Tel Aviv, and debris at a parking lot caused a fire. Iran’s military has warned Israeli citizens to evacuate Haifa and Tel Aviv.

Trump’s threat to Khamenei: US President Donald Trump wrote on social media platform X, ‘We know where the Supreme Leader is hiding. He is an easy target, but we will not eliminate him yet. Our threats are not empty.’ Trump demanded ‘unconditional surrender’ from Iran and claimed that the US has gained full control of Iran’s airspace.

Attack on IRGC headquarters: The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) confirmed that the main target of their attacks was the IRGC’s Quds Force headquarters in Tehran. The IDF also released a video showing the destruction of Iran’s preparations to fire ballistic missiles at Israel. Earlier, Israel killed IRGC’s top commander Major General Ali Shadmani, who was one of Khamenei’s closest military advisers.

Iran accuses Israel of attacking hospitals: Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesman Ismail Baghaei claimed that Israel deliberately targeted residential areas and hospitals. He said, ‘There have been attacks on a hospital in Kermanshah, a fire station in Ilam, and the Loughman Hakim Children’s Hospital.’ Iran called it a conspiracy to ‘target children’. Although the BBC confirmed damage to Kermanshah’s Farabi Hospital, it is not clear if it was intentional.

Panic and exodus in Tehran: There is an atmosphere of panic in Tehran after the Israeli attacks. Long queues of vehicles are seen on the Karaj-Chalus road as people are fleeing the city. Iran has closed its airspace, and petrol shortages have worsened the situation. The Indian embassy has issued helpline numbers for Indians living in Tehran, and 110 Indian students have been evacuated via the Armenia border.

Attack on Natanz nuclear facility: The International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) confirmed that the Israeli attack caused heavy damage to Iran’s Natanz nuclear enrichment plant, destroying 15,000 centrifuges. However, the Fordo nuclear facility is still safe. The IAEA warned that Natanz could be at risk of internal radioactive contamination.

America’s possible role in the war: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu believes that America can join the war in a few days. According to CNN report, America has deployed more than 30 air fuel tankers in the Middle East, which can help in fueling Israeli fighter jets. Trump said, ‘It is possible that we get involved in it.’

Iran’s counter strategy: Iran’s Armed Forces Chief Abdulrahim Mousavi said on Tuesday, ‘Residents of Tel Aviv and Haifa should leave the city immediately, as punishing attacks will start soon.’ Iran has so far fired 400 ballistic missiles and hundreds of drones on Israel, some of which damaged Haifa’s oil refinery.

Russia’s security chief’s visit to North Korea and China’s process of evacuating its citizens from Israel and Iran have increased global concern. The Chinese Embassy has advised to leave through the Jordan border. G7 leaders appealed to prevent war, but Netanyahu made it clear that he would not stop until Iran’s nuclear and missile capabilities were completely destroyed.

The Israel-Iran war has now crossed regional boundaries and has become a global crisis. Trump’s open threat to Khamenei, Israel’s attack on the IRGC headquarters in Tehran, and Iran’s retaliatory missiles have made this war more destructive. The loss of the Natanz nuclear center and the possible military involvement of the US are signs that this war is not going to end soon. This war can take a new turn with Israel’s ‘big surprise’ and Trump’s ‘big plan’ on Thursday and Friday. The world is now waiting with bated breath for the next step in this war.
