Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Italian Prime Minister Georgia Meloni have arrived to participate in the G-7 summit held in Kananaskis, Canada. Here a formal meeting took place between the two leaders. In this meeting, the PMs of both the countries discussed the growing bilateral relations between India and Italy and expressed commitment to further strengthen mutual cooperation. During this, a picture of the two leaders was taken, which was first shared by Italian PM Georgia Meloni and wrote – ‘Italy and India are connected by a great friendship.’ In this picture, PM Modi is seen laughing a lot and he agreed with this notion.

In this meeting, the two leaders also discussed global issues like India-Middle East-Europe Economic Corridor (IMEC) and free and open Indo-Pacific region. Prime Minister Modi expressed his gratitude to the Italian government for recognizing the contribution of the Indian Army in Italy’s wartime campaign and informed about the plan of Yashwant Ghadge Memorial located in Italy. Italian PM Meloni called this meeting a value-based partnership and expressed his desire to further deepen cooperation between the two countries.
