Schoolchildren Take Out Prabhat Pheri on 141st Birth Anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad
On the occasion of the 141st birth anniversary of India’s first President, the late Dr. Rajendra Prasad, schoolchildren took out a Prabhat Pheri across the city on Wednesday morning. The students marched through various routes and reached the Collectorate, where people paid floral tributes at the statue of Dr. Rajendra Prasad. A parade by schoolchildren was also organized on the occasion.
The event was held under the banner of the Dr. Rajendra Prasad Jayanti Celebration Committee, with participation from students of several schools in the city. Renowned educationist and committee member A.K. Lal said that the Prabhat Pheri was organized to mark the birth anniversary of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and floral tributes were offered at his statue in the Collectorate campus.
He added that several programs have been scheduled throughout the day. A painting competition for children will be held in the afternoon, which will be attended by the DRM and other senior officials. In the evening, shields will be awarded to the participants.
A.K. Lal further said that on this occasion, students were briefed about the life, values, and contributions of Dr. Rajendra Prasad, and were encouraged to follow the path shown by him. A large number of members of the organizing committee were present during the event.
