Take action as per rules against those who excavate and store sand during the ban period – Collector Shri Haris S

Meeting of the district level task force constituted to prevent illegal excavation, transportation and storage of minerals

Jagdalpur 14 June 2025/ As per the order of the state government, a meeting of the district level task force committee constituted to effectively stop illegal excavation, transportation and storage of minerals in the district was held in the Prerna room of the district office under the chairmanship of Collector Shri Haris S. Collector Shri Haris said that the Mineral – Revenue Department should take continuous action on illegal excavation, transportation and storage of minerals. Also, ensure to take action as per rules against those who excavate and store sand during the ban period. The Mineral Department should give information about the mines operated in the district to the Sub-Divisional Officer Revenue so that the SDM can also inspect the mine side.

In the meeting, action was discussed by the Mineral, Revenue, Transport, Forest and Environment Department by conducting a joint investigation on illegal excavation, transportation, storage of minerals. Apart from this, discussions were held regarding declaring new sand quarries, taking action against vehicles transporting minerals beyond their load capacity, taking action against vehicles transporting minerals covered with tarpaulin in this context, illegal excavation of minerals, necessary cooperation from station in-charges for keeping the vehicles seized during transportation safe in the nearest police station. Reviewed the cooperation from the Revenue Department for quarry demarcation. Discussion was held regarding information on the quantity of mineral possible for use in ongoing works under all the construction departments of the district and depositing royalty. Divisional Forest Officer Shri Uttam Gupta, Additional Collector Shri Rishikesh Tiwari, all SDMs and other revenue officers including Tehsildar, Mineral Department officer Shri Shikhar Cherpa and other concerned officers were present in the meeting.
