Starlink is the third company to get this permission. Earlier, Eutelsat OneWeb and Reliance Jio were approved. Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia announced that Starlink has been licensed as the third satellite internet provider. The license will be followed by spectrum allocation, which will start satellite telecom services faster. This service will especially deliver internet to those areas where it is difficult to establish traditional networks.
According to a Reuters report, after approval from the Government of India, Starlink is now closer to starting its satellite internet service in India. Now Starlink has become the third company in India to get permission to provide satellite internet service.
Communications Minister told about the approval
The country’s Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia gave this information that now Starlink has been allowed to start service in India. He told that earlier Bharti Airtel’s OneWeb and Reliance’s Jio were also issued licenses by the government. Now with Starlink also getting this license, satellite internet services in India will take a new form.
