Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr. Manoj Pingua reviewed the implementation of road safety action plan

Jagdalpur, 23 May 2025/ While reviewing the implementation of road safety action plan through video conferencing as per the instructions of the Supreme Court, Additional Chief Secretary Home Mr. Manoj Pingua emphasized on creating widespread public awareness at every level to prevent road accidents and asked to focus more in this direction in rural areas including urban areas. Along with this, instructions were given to ensure meaningful efforts towards road safety by forming Road Safety Clubs in schools and colleges. At the same time, to encourage the common people to use helmets and seat belts, first of all, government staff such as office officers-employees and college youth were asked to use helmets and seat belts.

Additional Chief Secretary Home Shri Pingua reviewed point wise matters like identifying accident prone areas on roads and ensuring necessary infrastructure works, taking action against people violating traffic rules as per rules, strict action against vehicles violating permit conditions, providing financial assistance in hit and run cases, holding regular meetings of District Road Safety Committees and taking result oriented action on decisions, rewarding sensitive persons who take road accident victims to hospital for immediate treatment, taking mandatory action on road safety audit report etc. and gave necessary guidelines. Secretary Transport Department Shri S. Prakash, members of State Level Committee and senior high officials were present in the meeting. Along with this, Commissioner, Inspector General of Police and Collectors-SP and other officers from divisions and districts were connected virtually. During this, officials of Public Works, Urban Administration, Health, Police etc. departments including Collector Shri Haris S were present in the NIC room of the Collectorate.
