Improvement of the quality and availability of education depends on rationalizing.

The education department has begun the rationalizing process in order to improve and increase the efficiency of the Chhattisgarh school system. This project’s major goal is for teachers to be on hand as needed so that children may receive better facilities, an atmosphere, and instruction.

Rationalization is the process of enhancing the educational system such that no school stays without a teacher and the student-teacher ratio is balanced in every other institution.

Actually, what is the situation?

Much better than the national average, the state’s 30,700 main schools have 21.84 children per teacher while 13,149 pre-secondary schools have 26.2 children per teacher. Still, 6,872 elementary schools have just one teacher and 212 main schools are teacherless. Of the pre-secondary schools, 48 have no teachers and 255 have just one. Additionally there are 362 educational institutions with teachers but no single student.

In metropolitan regions, too, 527 schools feature a student-teacher ratio of 10 or below. This ratio runs between 11 and 20 in 1,106 institutions. This ratio exists between 21 and 30 in 837 schools. This ratio, 40 or greater, however, is found in 245 schools, meaning that there are less teachers in relation to the enrollment count.

What advantages rationalizing will bring about?

Teachers from institutions where there are more teachers but no pupils will be taken out and sent to schools devoid of teachers. Teacherless and single teacher schools will be resolved this way. Running the school will also help to cut expenses and enable better use of resources. Children won’t have to repeatedly apply admittance if more classes and facilities are spread across the same site. That instance, if main, secondary, high school and higher secondary schools are housed on the same campus, then following the passing of the primary classes, students will eliminate the admissions procedure in the higher levels. This will guarantee children’s education’ continuance. Children’s dropout percentage will likewise diminish. Providing facilities like a good building, lab, library at one location will be simple.

The false questions asked by some educational institutions on the rationalizing process—whose goal is not to close any institution but rather to improve it—have been answered by the education department. This choice is being made for improved teacher deployment and in the benefit of the children.

This government project of Chhattisgarh would strengthen and balance the educational system of the state. Not only will rationalizing help instructors to be used properly, but it will also enable children to receive better and higher quality education.
