From 27 crores, how much tax Rishabh Pant must pay?

Rishabh Pant won not get the whole Rs 27 crore, let me tell you. The projected tax computation indicates that Pant’s profession income—27 crores—will be liable for a tax of Rs 11.48 crore. At thirty percent, his professional income will be taxed at Rs 8 crore 6 lakh. The tax would be Rs 11.04 crore following surcharge. Given his income of more than Rs 5 crore, a 37% surcharge will apply. His whole tax will be Rs 11.48 crore after including 4 per cent health and education cess. Rishabh Pant will so find himself with Rs 15.52 crore in hand.

Pant’s in-hand pay can rise if he uses deductions for things like equipment, travel and lodging, manager’s fees, etc., modifying his expenses. “Under the new tax system, out of Pant’s services of Rs 27 crore per season with the team, the Indian government will claim Rs 10.53 crore as tax (30% income tax, 25% surcharge and 4% cess), which will give Pant a net salary of Rs 16.47 crore from the IPL team per season,” News18 quoted Rajarshi Dasgupta, Executive Director-Tax, Aquilo. The franchise will deduct 10% of TDS from the given sum, which Pant can obtain upon submitting his income tax return.
