International Monetary Fund (IMF) has justified its one billion dollar i.e. roughly Rs 8500 crore economic package provided to Pakistan. This implies that Pakistan could receive increasingly larger economic packages going forward.

IMF happy with the circumstances

Part of the IMF program- Extended Fund Facility (EFF) of total $ 7 billion approved in September 2024, this bailout package is being handed to Pakistan. As of right now, Pakistan has received $2.1 billion. The IMF added during the press conference that the entire process consists in periodical inspections, therefore enabling one to determine whether the relevant nation is meeting those criteria or not.
